A recycled denim patchwork and conceptual pattern Winter collection of 2023 designed by IO CORTEZ. This collection heavily focuses on the idea of rebirth through evolution, drawing influence from concepts of identity, perception, social tradition, and the current social climate. All counterparts are constructed out of the highest quality material possible. In addition to sustainably sourced materials, all patterns are intentionally engineered to preserve as much fabric as possible for future restorations.This whole collection is based on the idea that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and that we often assessing whether or not something is deemed “trash”

The concept behind this recycled denim collection is to use non-traditional materials for clothing by re-engineering previous garments into something unique and stylized.

Moired aims to raise the question: When does something lose it’s value and become deemed as trash?

With the focus being on rebirth and pollution, the materials chosen were primarily a mixture of various metals and denim textiles.

There are concepts of rebirth, death, identity, manipulation and perception woven into each concept and design of this collection.

There are dark, suggestive, adult themes as well as social commentary discussion.
